Easy slide doors
Many Alton greenhouses come with an easy-slide door with no threshold or step at the door. The kerbless doorways provide good access for wheelbarrows and wheelchairs and you can even lock the door by fitting a padlock if you wish (not supplied).

Alton 'instant-fit' Cedar cladding
Available on the Amateur and Traditional models, you can add the clip-on cedar panels to your building at time of order, or at a later date. Once you have initially fitted the brackets, these clip on panels can be added quickly and easily to one or more side or end of the greenhouse. They are ideal for creating a more traditional boarded bottom appearance, they create a little extra insulation in winter and they can hide potentially messy storage areas and bags or compost under the staging.

Why two different shapes?
The Amateur models with sloping sides create more light transmission through the sides, particularly in the winter months when the sun is lower in the sky. Amateur greenhouses are also slightly sturdier due to the sloping side design. The straight sided Traditional model allows you more room at the top for shelving as you don't lose any space. The choice is yours.

Guttering & downpipes.
Standard now on all models - even octagonals. Alton guttering is slightly smaller than 'house' guttering and is therefore nicely in proportion with the greenhouse.Guttering is vital for keeping rain off the sides and collecting the vital resource in a waterbutt.

Practical staging & shelving.
Alton staging & shelving is made from a special finger jointed hardwood on redwood bearers. The high level shelves are an ideal feature which add highly practical extra capacity. Staging is available in a choice of widths to suit your greenhouse. The unique powder coated steel brackets give strong support and are brown colour coded to give a more attractive finish.

Internal partitions
The 8ft and 10ft wide Amateur models can be fitted with internal partitions with hinged doors. This will create a separate environment at the back of the greenhouse, ideal for propagating or overwintering to reduce heating bills.
