It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Christmas trees have been delivered – get yours now!

The holiday’s are coming and you can certainly tell here at Birstall Garden Centre. As most of you know, we have our Christmas Shop up and running with lots of gorgeous decorations, gifts and more. We sell artificial trees including Fibre Optics, as well as real ones and we have just had our first delivery of Nordman Fir and Fraser Fir. Big or small, narrow or bushy, perfect or unique – you name it, we’ve got it! We carry stock of a huge range of sizes and shapes so you will have plenty to choose from. Our Traditional Spruce will be with us next week, but we do have a selection of Pot Grown Spruce which are new to us this year and are perfect for replanting in your garden.

Types of Christmas Tree:

Traditional Norway Spruce:

Norway Spruce are the most popular variety of Christmas tree in Britain, representing good value and a great shape. All our Christmas Trees are sheared during their cultivation to produce a bushy, conical shape.

Nordman Fir:

Nordman trees have soft, broad, shiny needles which are not easily shed. The thicker needles retain the moisture well, so they stay on the tree longer as a result. These superior quality Nordman Fir are produced by extensive work on the sides of the tree to maintain a conical shape.

Fraser Fir:

Fraser Fir Christmas Trees are excellent at retaining their needles and are silvery in colour compared to the other varieties. They naturally grow to a narrower, more compact form, and give off a wonderful citrus scent.

Caring for your tree:

Treat your Christmas tree like you would freshly cut flowers. After purchase, cut 1 cm from the base of the tree and place it in a container of water. We have a range of tree boxes and stands which the tree can sit in. Place away from sources of heat, such as a fires or radiators to retain its freshness. If you do put it near a heat source, the needles are more likely to drop. Christmas trees like temperatures of 20 degrees centigrade or less to ensure as many needles as possible retain on the tree.

Ordering & Delivery:

We measure the height of our Christmas Trees to a point where the top row of branches, meets the central leader when folded up against it. This means you will not be charged for the top central point (this year’s growth) and your trees will be AT LEAST as tall as the height requested. We deliver Christmas Trees all over the country and you can order these online or over the phone. There are additional charges for delivery and prices vary depending on location and delivery date. We have plenty of trees on site for collection, so you can choose your favourite and take away with you.

We are open 7 days a week, Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sundays 10am – 4pm. Someone will be around to help you select the best tree for you!
