Indoor Aquariums – A great way to brighten up your home!
Keeping an Aquarium is a great hobby that dates back to almost 2500 B.C. When styled right, Aquariums can look like beautiful underwater worlds waiting to be discovered. They are fantastic focal points and are very relaxing to view.
You may have wanted an Aquarium for a while but thought that it would require too much time and expertise – this is not the case! Setting up an Aquarium is easy, simple and the time required for regular maintenance is approx. 30 mins – 1 hour every couple of weeks depending on the size and occupancy.
A popular tank for first time buyers is the Juwel Rekord 600. This tank is not too big as to be overwhelming, yet it gives you enough space to experiment your artistic skills with decoration and allowing you to keep more fish if you wish. The Rekord 600 comes with waterproof lighting with reflector, filter, pump, heater and filter media making it great value for money against its competitors. The stand comes as an optional extra in different colours to suit your personal style.
When Aquascaping your Aquarium, you have a few options when it comes to plants, starting with: artificial or living! People make a choice on whether to keep real plants or to go for artificial ones based on the overall look they want to achieve, growing conditions and of course, personal preference. Whichever you decide to go for, there are plenty to choose from!
Tropica Live plants come in three ranges based on how difficult they are to keep, Easy, Medium or Advanced. Many of these plants are happy growing in most Aquariums but there are some species that require more care and attention. It is important to do a little bit of research before purchasing live plants so that you can get the most out of them.
Artificial Plants need no maintenance, although we do recommend occasional cleaning to keep the plants looking like new.
Recommended Water Treatments:
Aqua Safe – Used when starting a new Aquarium or carrying out regular water changes to treat tap water to make safe for fish.
Safe Start – Used when adding fish to your Aquarium to help provide a safe environment and to give the beneficial bacteria a boost. (Also good as an alternative to Aqua Safe when carrying out water changes).
Easy Balance – Used for long term regular maintenance, reducing the need for regular water changes.
