Pumpkins – Halloween Carvings and Recipes! The Versatile Autumn Vegetable!
Pumpkins have been used as Halloween lanterns for many years and are commonly known as Jack-o’-lanterns. Both adults and children enjoy the carving craft year-on-year with more complex designs becoming more popular to attempt! It is unknown where or when the tradition of carving pumpkins originated but it really gained popularity when Irish Catholics took the holiday and customs with them when settling in America in the mid 19th Century.
As well as being great for Halloween, Pumpkins are the perfect autumn vegetable to use in the kitchen with many different unique recipes you wouldn’t of thought to try!
